📊 Chart of the week by Token Terminal Research 

Blockchain GDP measures how much the end users paid to interact with the chain's applications in a given period of time.

  • In December 2024, Ethereum L1 users collectively spent ~$700m:

    • ~$500m on apps (GDP), and

    • ~$200m on L1 transaction fees.

  • The top five applications (Lido, Uniswap, Aave, Ethena, and Flashbots) accounted for ~75% of Ethereum’s total GDP.

  1. Fluid, a DeFi protocol on Arbitrum, Base, and Ethereum.

  2. Injective, an L1 blockchain built for DeFi using the Cosmos SDK.

  4. Houdini Swap, a cross-chain liquidity aggregator.

  4. Lagoon, an asset management protocol on Ethereum. 

  5. Aethir, a GPU marketplace on Ethereum and Arbitrum.

  6. Coinshift, an asset management & lending protocol on Ethereum.

  7. Energy Web X, an L2 on Polkadot with focus on green energy.
