Introducing Token Terminal AI
The ground truth for onchain intelligence

AI has dramatically reduced the cost of producing research. Reports, dashboards, interfaces, and analysis can now be generated on demand, with steadily improving quality.
Building high-quality data is different. Domain data remains fragmented, inconsistent, difficult to collect, and even harder to standardize. Nowhere is this more apparent than in crypto, where the information that matters is spread across blockchains, smart contract architectures, offchain components, business models, and inconsistent disclosure standards. None of these were designed to produce clean, comparable financial or usage metrics.
For analysts, researchers, and investors, trustworthy, standardized data remains the limiting factor.
Token Terminal exists to solve that problem. We don't simply aggregate third-party data. We control the full data pipeline: sourcing data at the origin, ingesting and indexing it, cleaning and mapping it to a standardized methodology, and producing financial and usage metrics that are comparable across blockchains, applications, and tokenized assets.
That process turns raw onchain activity into research-grade data. Blockchain data is already public. The challenge is turning fragmented, domain-specific information into something structured, reliable, and comparable. Our dataset reflects years of work defining what should be measured, how it should be measured, and how fundamentally different crypto businesses and assets can be compared within a single framework.
As AI capabilities improve, the value of the underlying data becomes more important. The most valuable datasets won't necessarily be the largest. They'll be the ones built on robust infrastructure, clear methodology, and consistent standards. That's the foundation Token Terminal is built on.
How it works
Token Terminal AI is an interface built directly on top of our MCP and data warehouse.
Our MCP is a general-purpose tool that connects to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Gemini, and most other AI environments, bringing Token Terminal's data into the tools you already use.
Ask a question in plain English, and it's mapped to our semantic layer, translated into SQL, and executed against the same database that powers every chart on Token Terminal.
Because the MCP understands the full data pipeline across more than 100 blockchains, down to transaction- and event-level granularity, it can explain not only the answer, but also how every metric is calculated and which methodology it follows.
Every answer is grounded in the same standardized data and methodologies that power Token Terminal.
Not another chat window
Token Terminal AI launches today as a standalone product, but it's only the beginning. Over time, it will become part of the main terminal: a place to discover projects, ask questions, and analyze data with a natively trained agent alongside you. The agent helps explain methodologies, surface patterns, and drill down from high-level metrics to the underlying transactions.
Our AI strategy: ground truth for onchain data
The cost of building interfaces and custom tooling is falling quickly, and more of that work will happen inside local AI environments assembled on demand. That makes the underlying data platform increasingly important. Our focus remains the same: building the broadest, highest-quality onchain dataset for research and analytics.
"Ground truth refers to the verified, factual, and accurate data used to train, test, and validate machine learning models. It acts as the 'gold standard' or 'correct answer' that confirms information through direct observation rather than inference, serving as the benchmark against which predictive models are compared to ensure they reflect reality."
Building Token Terminal AI is the best way to improve the underlying data platform.
Every question, workflow, and edge case users uncover is routed to an internal research agent that helps us identify where our data model, semantic layer, and methodologies can improve. That same agent serves both Token Terminal AI and our MCP, so every improvement makes Token Terminal's data more reliable across Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Gemini, and every other AI environment we support.
We think of Token Terminal AI as the fastest way to dogfood our own infrastructure. By building the interface ourselves, we experience the same strengths and limitations as every downstream user. That feedback loop helps us continuously improve the data platform that powers them all.

Token Terminal’s data platform powers many interfaces, from our own terminal to AI agents and external platforms.
Token Terminal AI is now available for Pro and API users. Try it at tokenterminal.ai or connect the Token Terminal MCP to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and more.
