Expanding the frontier of onchain analytics

Starting from today, we are making our full data warehouse accessible

Token Terminal has built its foundation on standardized onchain metrics like TVL, active loans, fees, revenue, active users. These metrics make projects comparable and give investors, analysts, and teams a common language for evaluation.

Behind those outputs sits one of the largest onchain data warehouses in the industry: petabytes of transaction-level data across 100+ chains and thousands of projects. To date, only a small share of this data warehouse has been visible or accessible to users, because our priority has been on standardized reporting.

During Q4, we’re rolling out Queries — a SQL interface designed to complement and extend our existing no-code analytics tools.

Check out the first breakdown charts for Aave, built using Queries, here.

SQL access to the Token Terminal data warehouse

Queries provides direct access to Token Terminal’s underlying data warehouse; enabling analysts to query:

  1. Raw blockchain data (e.g. blocks, transactions, logs).

  2. Decoded smart contract data (e.g. events, functions, state diffs).

  3. Market data (e.g. token metadata, transfers, prices).

  4. Market sector-specific primitives (e.g. DEX trades, lending deposits & borrows).

  5. Standardized metrics (e.g. TVL, GMV, fees, revenue, active users).

With Queries, high-level KPIs can be broken down into detailed drivers:

  • Active loans segmented by borrow size, collateral type, or borrower profile.

  • Trading volume segmented by trader type, pool, or asset category.

  • Total value locked segmented by asset and/or chain.

This is the same analytical flexibility that software companies expect from modern data platforms, now applied to onchain businesses.

Token Terminal is the only platform in the crypto data market that delivers both standardized and custom metrics.

Why it matters

  • More granular data: Analysts can move seamlessly from standardized KPIs to the detailed transaction-level factors that shape them.

  • Expanded insights and use cases: SQL queries unlock access to ~1,000x more information, extending utility beyond financial reporting into product analytics, user cohort tracking, and other project-specific analysis.

  • Unique data product: Token Terminal is the only platform in the crypto data market that delivers both standardized and custom metrics, both running on top of a well-documented and easily auditable data pipeline.
